VGF是一个神经内分泌特异性基因,属于非乙酰化分泌蛋白基因家族(non-acetylated secretory protein family),其名称源自“VGF nerve growth factor inducible”的缩写,表明它最初被发现是由神经生长因子(NGF)诱导表达的。VGF基因编码一种多功能的蛋白质前体,经过蛋白水解加工后可产生多种生物活性肽段,如TLQP-21、AQEE-30等。这些肽段在神经系统中广泛分布,参与调节能量代谢、突触可塑性、疼痛感知和情绪行为等生理过程。VGF的主要作用位点包括下丘脑(调控食欲和能量平衡)、海马体(影响学习和记忆)以及脊髓(参与疼痛信号传导)。VGF的突变或表达异常与多种疾病相关,例如抑郁症、精神分裂症和阿尔茨海默病等神经精神疾病,还可能影响肥胖和糖尿病的发生。当VGF过表达时,可能通过增强神经保护作用和突触功能改善认知能力,但过度激活也可能导致代谢紊乱;而降低表达则与抑郁样行为、记忆缺陷和能量代谢失调相关。VGF基因家族的共性在于其成员多为分泌型蛋白或肽类,具有细胞间信号传递功能,且多受神经营养因子调控。目前研究还发现VGF衍生肽可能通过BDNF(脑源性神经营养因子)等途径交叉影响其他基因的表达网络。需要注意的是,“VGF”作为专有名词在中文文献中通常直接使用英文缩写,尚无广泛认可的中文译名。
